The fiberglass open lifeboat is an economical lifeboat. Since it has no roof, it is mainly suitable for passenger ships, cargo ships, inland rivers and offshore ships.
The space between the inner and outer hulls is filled with polyurethane foam, which helps the boat float even if the underwater part is damaged.
FRP Open Lifeboats are usually manually propelled by a diesel engine or a handle paddle.It can be launched from gravity davits on either side of the ship.
Open lifeboats have a simplified design, are easy to enter and exit, and are suitable for emergency evacuation. Its lightweight construction and greater crew capacity make it an option for providing efficient and safe evacuation under certain conditions.
