The Primary Function of the Valve Spring Seat:

The valve spring seat plays a critical role in ensuring that the valve closes accurately and tightly, preventing bounce during engine vibrations, thereby maintaining good sealing performance. Together with the lower seat, the seat applies the tension of the valve spring to the valve mechanism, ensuring airtightness between the valve and the valve seat.

Specifically, the functions of the valve spring seat include:

1. Preventing Spring Displacement and Wear: The seat is designed to keep the spring stable, preventing displacement and wear, which ensures the reliable return of the valve.
 
2. Increasing the Natural Frequency of the Valve Spring: By increasing the wire diameter, reducing the coil diameter, or employing dual valve springs, the stiffness of the valve spring is increased, enhancing its stability and reducing the likelihood of valve float at higher engine speeds.
 
3. Eliminating Gaps: The pre-load applied during the installation of the valve spring overcomes the inertial forces encountered during valve closure, eliminating gaps between the components of the valve train and ensuring the precision and timing of valve movements.
 
4. Sealing Performance: The seat, through its inner conical surface, forms a precise fit with the conical surface of the valve head, contributing to the sealing of the cylinder. It also bears the heat transferred from the valve, helping to maintain the stability of the engine's internal operations.
